A serious accident caused a part of the road leading to the Austin airport to close down on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at around 6 a.m. near the intersection of Hwy 71 and Highway 183.

If you were heading east, the regular route using Hwy 71 is blocked due to the accident. Instead, you need to take a detour using Highway 183 to reach your destination.

As an alternative, drivers can choose a different path by using Burleson Road to FM 973, and then getting on Hwy 71 to reach the airport.
