December 2023 was not your typical December for many places in the United States. According to the National Weather Service, it ranked among the warmest Decembers on record for various regions.

While this meant fewer snowflakes, I enjoyed the warmer days, but now, a surprising Florida weather forecast for January 2024 has been released.

Florida’s January Forecast: What to Expect?

In January, about half of the US has an equal chance of below-normal temperatures, including Florida in the far south. However, snowbirds, don’t pack away your rain gear just yet.

The Climate Prediction Center anticipates above-average temperatures from the Western U.S. through the Great Lakes and warmer-than-usual weather in the Northeast.

While most areas are expecting average rainfall, Florida stands out, expecting much more precipitation than usual. So, if you’re escaping the cold up north, get ready for wetter conditions in Florida.

Overall Winter Forecast Across the U.S.

The Climate Prediction Center foresees a warmer winter for most of the country, a familiar climate for Florida but a significant shift for those in the northern regions.

From January through March 2024, above-normal temperatures are expected in much of the country, with some areas experiencing exceptionally warm weather.
