Bronx School Shock: 12-Year-Old Girl Injured in Knife Incident

The NYPD said that a 12-year-old girl was injured with a knife at J.H.S. 123 James M. Kieran School in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx on Wednesday morning.

It was just after 9:30 a.m. when police were called to the school, which is not a scanning school. They found the girl with a cut on her right leg.

The woman was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in good condition, and she is expected to get better.

The police say that another 14-year-old student cut the girl. This is the latest incident in a long line of times when different kinds of guns were used or found in New York City schools.

Police in New York City say that a 15-year-old student was stabbed at Edward R. Murrow High School in Midwood, Brooklyn, on Tuesday morning. Just before 9:30 a.m., police were called to a 911 call.

The boy was stabbed in the stomach, according to the cops. He was taken to Maimonides Hospital and is in stable condition. The cops said they caught a person of interest.

DOE said in a statement, “The safety and well-being of our students is our absolute top priority. Following an incident in the school, NYPD School Safety immediately responded, and NYPD and EMS are on site. The building was placed on a brief lockdown which has now been lifted.”

Mayor Eric Adams just recently said that the city will hire 120 new school safety officers. This comes just a few weeks after a class of 250 officers was suddenly canceled because of budget worries.
