Mooresville Woman Passes Away in Orange County Jail Cell
Jean Ross, a 54-year-old Mooresville woman, was found dead in her cell at the Orange County Jail.
Officers found her during a routine breakfast delivery around 5 a.m. on Saturday, December 31.

Autopsy Conducted
Despite immediate medical attention and the arrival of EMS, Ross couldn’t be revived and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An autopsy was conducted on Sunday, December 31, and toxicology tests are pending as part of the ongoing investigation into her passing.

Ongoing Investigation
Ross had been transferred from Hendricks County Jail to Orange County Jail on December 26 due to a warrant for failure to appear in court.
Authorities are conducting a comprehensive investigation to understand the circumstances leading to her tragic demise.
