Tragic Fire In Cumberland County: Young Child Dies, Mother Hospitalized

A terrible house fire at 2074 Fall Creek Road in Cumberland County shook the community on Sunday. A 5-year-old child was killed in the fire, leaving the community in despair.

Despite various organizations’ quick response, they were unable to save the youngster, who was still inside the house when they arrived.

Mother Hospitalized After Injury

Andrea Cox, the child’s mother, somehow survived the flames despite suffering severe injuries. She escaped the fire in a dangerous scenario, but her child did not.

Cox was then taken to Nashville’s Skyline Medical Center Burn Unit, where she is presently getting treatment. Her health is still a significant concern for her family and the community.

Investigation Underway

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Casey Cox, has launched an extensive investigation into the cause of the incident, together with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office extended heartfelt condolences to the family, underlining the tragedy’s significant impact on the whole community.

“The loss of a young life is not just a family’s tragedy but a darkness that falls over the whole community,” Cox said.
