One person lost his life in NYC subway crash while chasing train

According to authorities, a man died on Wednesday after falling between the train cars while attempting to board a subway train in Brooklyn as it was leaving.

The man, believed to be in his 50s or 60s, arrived at the Q train stop on Lincoln Road and Ocean Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens around 8:25 a.m. on Tuesday.

As the train doors closed, many noticed him push his arm through. He was pulled a short distance and then collapsed between the train cars.

According to reports, he ended out on the tracks underneath the train and was hit by it.

He died and had not to be recognized as of Wednesday, according to authorities.

Another story stated that the man had been wandering back and forth on the platform before attempting to catch the train.

This is the most recent in a string of fatal mishaps involving passengers riding on the exterior of subway trains.

Earlier this month, a 14-year-old called Alam Reyes died after falling off a F train bound for Coney Island in Brooklyn on January 12.

Alam was declared dead on the scene by emergency personnel at the elevated Avenue N station above McDonald Avenue.
