Just before midnight, a fire started in the 2800 block of Emerald Street, behind Adams Carpet Center. In Kensington, an inquiry into a fire is taking place. According to fire officials, the structure, which they claim was built illegally, partially collapsed in the fire. There were no injuries.
The building’s owner claims that he reported the structure’s condition to the Department of Licenses and Inspections.
