Travis Phillips, 25, Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash In Rusk County!
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Carthage man was killed last weekend when his pickup struck a tree and a utility pole in Rusk County. Sgt. Chris Williamson stated that Travis Phillips, 25, passed away at the scene.
Approximately five miles southeast of Henderson, at FM 2867, DPS troopers were dispatched at 9:48 p.m. on Saturday.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Phillips was driving east on FM 2867 when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, according to Williamson.
According to Williamson, Phillips veered off the road to the south, overcorrected to the left, and then left the north side of the road rolling, colliding with a tree and a power pole.
