Man, Daughter Found Fatally Shot Inside East Chatham Apartment; 2-Year-Old Unharmed

CHICAGO — Killer(s) of a father and his adult daughter are being sought after their bodies were discovered in an apartment in the city’s East Chatham district.

Chicago police were responding to a check welfare call on Wednesday near East 82nd Street and South Drexel Avenue when they discovered the two adults fatally shot, along with a 2-year-old toddler.

The kid was sent to the emergency room. After Javonni Jenkins didn’t show up to work on Wednesday, police were summoned to his apartment. Jenkins was a medical assistant at Holy Cross Hospital.

According to WGN, when a coworker tried to call her, her 2-year-old son answered the phone. Her father, Curtis Hartman, 79, and daughter, Jennifer Jenkins, were both dead when police arrived.
She didn’t show up to work and didn’t call in sick, so I knew something was up,” Nicole Worth said. Area 2 Detectives are interrogating prospective witnesses. No weapons were seized at the scene, Ben said
