I-70 Reopens After Closure Near Tower Road Amid Gun-Related Incident!
Due to a gunman, both lanes of travel on Interstate 70 near Tower Road were halted on Saturday afternoon. After initially telling the public that the individual was a guy, the Aurora Police Department then revealed that the suspect was a woman.

Just after 3:15 p.m., the Aurora Police Department responded, reporting that a guy with a gun was standing in the median.
According to callers, the subject was reportedly brandishing a pistol, according to authorities.

Officers were redirecting traffic from I-70 while they attempted to reach a peaceful conclusion. The APD reports that as of 4:01 p.m., the individual was under arrest.
Police said they found out the person was, in fact, a woman after making the arrest. Police stated, “She was arrested for disorderly conduct and also has underlying mental health concerns.”
