Friday Morning: 2.6 Magnitude Earthquake Recorded in Lake County

In the early hours of Friday morning, Madison experienced a minor earthquake measuring 2.6 on the magnitude scale, as reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

This earthquake occurrence happened at 3:47 a.m. and registered at a depth of 5.0 kilometers.

Previous Earthquakes in Madison

This isn’t the first quake Madison has felt. Earlier, on January 1 at 8:58 p.m., a 2.4 magnitude earthquake was reported by the USGS.

Moreover, on December 1, near the border of Ashtabula County, a 2.3 magnitude earthquake occurred.
