CHICAGO — A man was killed in a shooting on Friday night during an argument on the CTA Blue Line.
The 38-year-old man and his shooter argued at 5:42 p.m. when they got off the train at the Illinois Medical District station along Damen Avenue on the Eisenhower Expressway, police said. The perpetrator then pulled out a gun and opened fire on the man, police said.
He got shot in the foot and taken to Stroga Hospital of Cook County in good condition. The man was shot and killed at the Illinois Medical District Station. However, the Chicago Transit Authority said police action caused the train to detour from the UIC-Halsted station, two stops east along the Eisenhower Expressway. It is not clear why.
No one was in custody late Friday. Third District detectives are investigating.
