Officials have announced that Narcan, a drug that can cure opioid overdoses, is now available in all Chicago public libraries.
In the past, it was only sold in limited stores. There were almost 1,400 deaths in the city due to opioid overdoses last year, an all-time high. Increasing access to Narcan is hoped by officials in the hopes that it will reduce that number.
