20-Year-Olds From Lowell And Boston: Two People Found Dead On MBTA Tracks

Authorities identified a pair of 20-year-olds as the people found dead on MBTA tracks in Quincy early Monday morning.

According to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office. Kyler Granada of South Boston and Tanairy Rodriguez of Lowell were electrocuted and killed on the tracks. Investigators do not believe foul play played a role in their deaths.

According to WCVB and NBC Boston, a Red Line train operator came across their bodies. The bodies were found near Quincy’s Wollaston station tracks around 6 a.m. Monday. Soon after, investigators said they did not believe the couple was hit by a train.

According to District Attorney Michael Morrissey, Granada and Rodriguez came into contact with an electrified third rail on the train tracks — a power supply used in public transportation.
