On Friday, there was a crash in Lake County. A motorcycle and an SUV collided near U.S. 27 and Schofield Road in Clermont, around 5:10 p.m.

The SUV was turning left onto Schofield Road when the motorcycle hit the right side of the vehicle.

Motorcyclist killed, 2 injured in Lake County crash:

The individual riding the motorcycle, identified as a 31-year-old man from Davenport, lost his life due to the impact. Meanwhile, two passengers who were in the SUV sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.

At present, investigators are actively working to understand the cause and circumstances leading to the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting a thorough examination to determine what exactly happened during the incident.
