18-Year-Old Arrested at Denver Airport for Alleged Ties to ISIS
18-year-old Westminster, Colorado resident Humzah Mashkoor made his court debut today facing charges of trying to give material support to a group that has been designated as a foreign terrorist.
Before he could board an aircraft for the first leg of an international vacation, Mashkoor was detained on Monday, December 18, at Denver International Airport, according to court filings.

Mashkoor was on his way to the United Arab Emirates, where he planned to stay until he moved on to either Afghanistan or Syria to fight for ISIS, according to the affidavit supporting the criminal charge.
This case is being investigated by the FBI Denver Field Office.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Cramer-Babycz for the District of Colorado, with support from Jennifer Levy of the Counterterrorism Section of the National Security Division.
