Young Woman Dies After Bear Lake County Crash
The Idaho State Police are conducting an investigation into a collision that took place on Sunday evening at 7:47 p.m. on United States Route 30 in Bear Lake County near milepost 417.
Both the driver and the passenger were from Montpelier, and they were heading westbound in a Chevrolet Impala from 2013. The driver was a female, aged 24, and the passenger was a youngster.
A 2014 Toyota pickup truck, driven by a male who was 44 years old, a female who was 42 years old, and two minors who were all from Montpelier were heading in the direction of eastbound traffic. Following the Chevrolet’s crossing of the center line into the eastbound lanes, the Toyota was involved in an accident.

Unfortunately, the driver of the Chevrolet was unable to recover from her injuries and passed away at the local hospital, where she was taken by ground ambulance. She did not have a seatbelt on at the time.

All of the other people who were involved in the accident were transferred to a nearby hospital by ground transportation while wearing safety restraints.
Approximately four hours were spent with all lanes being blocked off as emergency personnel tried to clear the situation and provide assistance to individuals who were involved.
