A New Jersey jail woman, aged 38, was discovered dead n her cell on Tuesday morning, prompting officials to initiate an inquiry. Prosecutor Esther Suarez of Hudson County said that a prison officer reported finding the woman’s body in her cell before 7 a.m. and that onsite medical staff provided urgent help.
Suarez reports that at 7:34 a.m., the inmate detained in the Hudson County institution was pronounced deceased. Suarez also mentioned that there were no outward trauma symptoms and that her agency was investigating.
The prosecutor’s office did not disclose the inmate’s identity, and the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office is responsible for determining what caused the death.
