Man Already On The Ground is Shot By A Deputy Of The Los Angeles County Sheriff

According to authorities, The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy is accused of shooting. An individual is shot and already lying on the ground by another deputy.

Deputy Remin Pineda accuses of one count of assault with a semiautomatic weapon and one count of criminal mischief. According to the District Attorney’s Office of Los Angeles County. One count of assault in an official capacity concerning the shooting death of David Ordaz.

On March 14, 2021, the incident occurred in East Los Angeles. When Ordaz’s sister called the Police to report that her brother is suicidal and carrying a knife. Pineda and other deputies went to the house.

Ordaz approaches responding deputies while still carrying a weapon. He approached them. Two deputies fired beanbag rounds at him, according to the district attorney’s office.

Deputies allegedly opened fire on Ordaz after he reportedly ran at them while brandishing a knife.

Officials said that When Pineda allegedly continued firing at Ordaz, he had already fallen to the ground, dropped the knife, and was lying backward in front of the deputies.
The incident is capture on a bodycam video.

In a news release, District Attorney George Gascón stated that “illegal and excessive force by Police further divides law enforcement from the communities they serve and erodes public trust. “When law enforcement commits a wrong, we must hold them accountable.

The tragic murder of Mr. Ordaz in front of his own family has had devastating effects that will last for years.”

Pineda charged the day before his 38th birthday on Thursday. According to the authorities, his arraignment will take place later.

For Ordaz’s family, justice would be for Pineda to be convict and sentence for the other deputies to face charges of killing the father of three.
The Sheriff’s Department is still looking into the situation.
