Waukegan Bank Heist Sparks FBI Investigation Amidst Hold-up Alarm Response
Officers responding to a panic alert in Waukegan found a bank had been robbed by a man who appeared to have a pistol. The FBI is now looking into the incident.
Around 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, the Waukegan Police Department was called to Fifth Third Bank, located at 702 North Green Bay Road in Waukegan.

According to a police report, there had been a report of an activated hold-up alarm. According to the complaint, staff members informed responding police that a man had robbed the bank and taken cash.
The suspect, according to the FBI Chicago Field Office, is a medium-built white man who is dressed in dark jeans, a black long-sleeve shirt, and a white hat.

The teller complied after the suspect produced a note demanding payment. The FBI added that the suspect made hints about carrying a firearm. The culprit escaped on foot and is still on the loose.
The incident resulted in no reported injuries. On Thursday, the FBI made public a surveillance image of the person who is wanted. Law enforcement organizations in the area received a regional notice asking them to keep a lookout for the individual.
