Three shootings by young people are being looked into by the CPD

A more considerable percentage of Chicago’s young people have been affected by gun violence in the past year than at the same time last year.

To already in 2022, 58 youths (aged 17 and under) have been murdered, an increase over the 51 youths (aged 17 and under) who had been murdered by this time the previous year.

The Chicago Police Department (CPD) has been puzzling over three cases involving young victims in the past week alone.

On Monday, a 15-year-old kid was shot multiple times inside a laundromat in North Lawndale, according to Chicago Police.

The gunshot deaths of 13-year-olds Quentin Branch and Michael Hence in the 11400 block of South Calumet Avenue in Roseland occurred three days later.

Then, three people were shot in the 5400 block of West Augusta Boulevard late on Sunday night, including a 15-year-old girl from the Austin area.

After being shot in the head, she was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the police. In none of the three cases have police reported making an arrest.
