The number of COVID hospitalizations in San Diego County has decreased to 589 patients.

Patients admitted to hospitals in San Diego County with COVID-19 infection continued to decline on Sunday, with the number of patients falling to 589 from 628 on Saturday and 648 on Friday, according to the most recent state data.

 

The number of patients in intensive care reduced by nine on Sunday, bringing the total to 114. The number of available intensive care unit beds grew by 11 to 202.

Earlier this week, San Diego County reported 1,419 new COVID-19 cases and 16 additional virus-related deaths, bringing the county’s total number of infections and deaths to 731,036 illnesses and 4,974 deaths since the outbreak began.

Weekends and holidays are the only days that the county does not report COVID data.
