Surprise stimulus cheques in the amount of between $600 and $1,100 will be delivered to California residents by the end of this week.
The cheques for this most recent batch of payments began to be distributed on November 29, with the final payments planned to be sent by December 17.
A total of approximately 800,000 paper checks will be distributed, as well as 3,000 direct deposit payments.
As a result of the approximately $12 billion in coronavirus relief approved by California Governor Gavin Newsom, all of this is part of the Golden State II initiative.
“The Golden State Stimulus is critical to lifting up those who have been hit the hardest by the pandemic and supporting California’s economic recovery by putting money directly in the hands of people who will spend it on basic needs and within their local communities,” Governor Gavin Newsom said when the program was announced.
Most of the time, those who qualify for the stimulus check will receive it through the refund option that they selected on their tax return.
