Morrissey’s show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles was cut short 30 minutes in, much to the dismay of his audience. Fans on social media claim that the former Smiths frontman left the stage after playing only a few songs.
A few minutes later, a band member returned to the stage to inform the audience that the performance would be cut short. “I apologize deeply. Please join us again soon! Apologies.” In response, the audience booed and jeered at the speaker.
What exactly was the “unforeseen circumstance” that ended the show? Fans were concerned that Morrissey could cancel the show because of the cold weather. After 30 minutes on stage at the Greek Theatre, Morrissey left. He was too chilly. While that’s going on, “it’s in the 50s,” a fan tweeted.
Due to the singer’s notoriety, some fans weren’t wholly shocked. To summarize Morrissey’s concert, he walked out on stage wearing a self-portrait T-shirt, lit up in front of the crowd, performed five songs, and then left the scene. Another fan tweeted, “my mum WARNED ME.”
The cause behind the ‘abrupt end ‘ was not revealed yet
The following day, he posted a statement on his official Instagram account but did not explain why the event had been cut short. I appreciate everyone who made it out last night in L.A. You are in our hearts and minds, and we appreciate you being there for us. Wait for upcoming updates. Thanks!
A statement on the Greek Theatre’s website noted, “the concert has been postponed until a later day.” Ticket holders have been asked to check the venue’s website for further information. Morrissey’s North American headline tour continued with a gig in Los Angeles on November 12.
The time had previously begun on November 11 in Ontario, California. No word yet on whether he’ll be able to reschedule the canceled event during his “Life in Concert” tour, which is set to go through early December. Morrissey will perform at The Magnolia in El Cajon, California, on November 14.
