Florida State QB Jordan Travis Leaves The Game: Returns With a Leg Injury To Sidelines On Crutches

A play that started badly for the Florida State Seminoles was even worse.

Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis remained down on the field. He held his leg after being sacked in the first half. He appeared to get away from Louisville’s YaYa Diaby, intercepted before completing a pass. However, Diaby calls the play a sack because Travis’ knee hit the ground before the throw.

Travis walked gingerly off the field with assistance. The following play saw the replacement of Tate Rademaker, who had thrown an incomplete pass.
According to ESPN, Travis expected not to return to the game after halftime. He returned to the bench on crutches—his left leg in a boot.

When the Seminoles return to Tallahassee, Florida State coach Mike Norvell said the team would evaluate Travis.

FSU won the game 35-31, largely thanks to Rodemaker’s performance in the second half. He went 6-for-10 for 109 yards and two touchdowns with one interception (which came late in the first half).

“I just kind of got thrown out there in the first half,” Rademaker said. “I just went out there and played my game in the second half.” ‘This is like practice,’ I told myself, ‘and I’d been doing it all week.’ I transferred it to the game.”

Rademaker accounted for 260 of Florida State’s 455 yards gained. Treshaun Ward rushed for 126 yards on ten carries for the Seminoles, who totaled 189 yards on 37 carries. Johnny Wilson finished with seven catches for 149 yards and both Rodemaker touchdowns.

Norvell stated that his team “willed” itself to victory, mainly due to Rodemaker’s performance.

“That was an example of the foundation this team built on,” Norvell said. “It was a memorable evening.” That is one I will remember for the rest of my life. That was a fantastic atmosphere. We’ll discuss that heart and that identity.”

He started quickly, finishing his first 11 passes and scoring twice. Travis threw one near the goal line to Preston Daniel and another to Malik McClain.

It was a far superior performance to his debut against Louisville in 2020, when he went 14 of 32 (43.8%) for 141 yards and a touchdown with an interception. On 12 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown. As a result, the Cardinals defeated 48-16.
