Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident In Stillwater Leaves One Dead!
An accident involving many vehicles in Stillwater on Friday morning resulted in the death of one person.
At 6:33 a.m., the Stillwater Police Department (SPD) was called to 14th and Perkins regarding a car accident involving injuries.
Marvin Gashwazra, 83, of Tryon, was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup north on Perkins Road as it approached 14th Avenue, according to the police’s preliminary investigation.
Driving a 2015 Dodge Charger south on Perkins Road, Laura Newton, 60, of Stillwater, was approaching 14th Avenue in the inside lane.
A third vehicle, a 2005 Chevy 3500 pickup towing a trailer, was coming 14th Avenue from the south in the outer lane of Perkins Road. The driver of this vehicle was Levi Kevan, 37, of Yale.

Newton reported to the investigators that she witnessed Gashwazra’s pickup drive across the center line and come at her.
She said that when she swerved to avoid colliding with the pickup head-on, her car was hit. Gashwazra hit Kevan’s pickup truck after continuing north in the southbound lanes.

On the spot, Gashwazra was declared deceased. Gashwazra was the only unrestrained individual involved in the collision, according to investigators.
Newton had minor injuries, so he was sent to the hospital to receive treatment. The SPD continues its investigation into this incident.
