Early Morning Fire Razes Caltrans Building in San Rafael
Early on Monday morning, authorities in San Rafael reported that a fire had destroyed a Caltrans building. According to San Rafael Police, the Caltrans San Rafael Construction Office at 742 Francisco Blvd.
HAPPENING NOW – 700 BLOCK OF FRANCISCO BOULEVARD WEST IS CLOSED DUE TO A STRUCTURE FIRE:

West was the scene of the fire. Just after six in the morning, firefighters arrived to find the fire restricted to a single-story business structure close to the intersection of Interstate 580 and U.S. 101.

According to authorities, the fire was put out, and firemen stayed to do mop-up work. The Caltrans office was closed at the time of the fire, and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire remained unknown for some time. For the next few hours, Francisco Boulevard West in the 700 block will be closed, according to the police.
