CHP: Semi-Truck Collision on Hwy 43 Leaves One Dead!
The California Highway Patrol reports that one person died following a head-on collision involving a semi-truck on Highway 43 on Wednesday. Officers were called to the crash near Highway 43 north of Panama Lane at 12:15 p.m., according to CHP.
According to the police, a semi-truck traveling north on Highway 43 at about 57 mph was passing a southbound Kia Sol driven by a 42-year-old Bakersfield male.
The Kia Sol’s unbuckled driver abruptly changed lanes into the northbound lane in front of the semi-truck for no apparent reason. The semi-truck’s right front and the Kia Sol’s left front collided.
Then, according to CHP, the Kia spun out and flipped over on its side. The west shoulder is where the semi-truck came to a stop.
