4 Women Dead, 1 Critically Injured in Memphis Shooting Spree
Four people were killed and one was critically injured in a series of gunshots throughout Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday evening, prompting an hours-long manhunt for a suspect who was ultimately found dead, according to authorities.
Officers responded to a complaint of a shooting on Howard Drive at 9:22 p.m., according to the Memphis Police Department.
“Through the course of the investigation, it has been determined that this scene and two other recent shooting scenes are connected and involve the same suspect,” the law enforcement agency said.

Mavis Christian Jr., 52, was identified as the suspect by police. Following a manhunt, he was located with a fatal gunshot wound around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to authorities. According to investigators, the wound seemed to be self-inflicted.
Christian’s photo had previously been issued by police, who said he was possibly driving a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu.
“If you see him or his vehicle, please call 911 immediately,” police urged in a previous press release. “Do not approach or engage this individual, he is armed and extremely dangerous.”
According to officials, he was subsequently found in Malibu. According to officials, one woman was shot and killed on Howard Drive, while another woman was killed on Warrington Road.
According to police, the other shooting location was on Field Lark Road, where two women were tragically shot. According to police, a third woman was gravely hurt at the scene. Police said the shootings were being examined as a domestic violence incident.
