After a young Irish woman who had been living in Queens was discovered dead last month, her family now says they suspect she was killed and is offering a $35,000 reward for information.
On the morning of October 12, Claire McKenna, 26, was found “unconscious and unresponsive, laying face down on the pavement beside a shrub” at 94th Avenue and 214th Street in Queens Village, according to authorities. According to police, a bystander discovered her and dialed 911.
Police reported that she had a history of drug use and that there were track marks on her left arm, however, the city Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet confirmed the exact cause of death.
According to The Irish Mirror, McKenna texted “help” to her parents in Ireland the day before she was discovered dead, and police have surveillance footage showing a guy pushing her body in a cart.
Police claimed they couldn’t confirm the text or video. The family is offering $35,000 for information that results in an “arrest and conviction” in relation to her death, according to the handbill announcing the reward.
