Van Collide with a Pickup Truck in Central Ohio-Ohio Sheriff’s Deputy Died in the Crash

On Thursday, a van carrying an inmate from Wyandot County collided with a pickup truck in central Ohio, killing the deputy.

According to a statement released by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Daniel Kin was killed in a crash in Pickaway County, Ohio, just south of Columbus. After being airlifted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, it was determined that Kin, from Upper Sandusky, had passed away.

“Dan was such a wonderful person with an awesome smile”-The official statement says

A lot of people will miss Dan. With a background in law enforcement in Seneca County, Kin had been with the sheriff’s office for a little over a year.

It is reported that the incident happened around 11 a.m. at the junction of Ohio 56 and Ohio 104. During the accident, Kin was traveling north on Ohio 104 when the transport van collided with a 2010 Dodge Ram traveling east on Ohio 56.

The Scioto Valley Guardian reports that the convict was brought to OhioHealth Berger hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The pickup truck driver’s status at Grant Medical Center was listed as “stable” on Thursday. According to reporters,a 4-year-old girl in the truck was rushed to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, but no information about her condition was made public.
