The UFC fighter named Cain Velasquez has been arrested in San Jose on an attempted murder charge, TMZ Sports reports.
Authorities have since confirmed that Velasquez was involved in the alleged shooting, which occurred at least Tuesday morning.
“The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation at this time,” police stated.
A mugshot of the suspect was released.
The 38-year-old is suspected of being involved in an incident which took place near a San Jose high school at about 3 p.m. Pacific Time on Monday.

It had previously been reported that one person was arrested and another was injured, but Velasquez hadn’t been identified at the time.
Complex report the suspected criminal court date has been set for Wednesday, 12 p.m. Pacific Time.
The California native stands as one of the greatest heavyweight MMA fighters of all time.
Along with his career with the UFC, he also fought for the WWE.
As a wrestler in college, Velazquez was a two-time All-American at Arizona State University.
