Two Arrested In 2022 Connection With Coachella Teen Shootings!

Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of two teenagers last year in Coachella.

The shooting happened on July 20, 2022, at the 86000 block of Calle Geranio. Witnesses told deputies they saw two people shooting at a vehicle in the area, Sgt—Edward Soto of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Before deputies got to the scene, the two suspects had already departed. The victims’ families named them as Jestine Carrillo, 17, and Brandon Anguiano, 16.

“My brother Brandon Anguiano and Jestine Carrillo, his girlfriend were victims of a terrible gun violence,” Brandon’s sister wrote.

On Thursday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office announced that one of the suspects in the earlier this year homicide has been identified by investigators. The Coachella resident 18-year-old was taken into custody in February following his arrest.

The agency stated that as the suspect was underage at the time of the murder, his identity would not be disclosed.

Detectives identified the second suspect as a 16-year-old Coachella area boy as the inquiry went on. Tuesday, the teenager was apprehended close to the Coachella intersection of Cesar Chavez Street and 50 Avenue; there were no problems encountered throughout the apprehension process.

After being brought to Juvenile Hall, he was charged with murder.
