Prince Harry’s Ex says She was “Lucky” Their Relationship was Short-Lived
Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Florence St George has revealed that she feels ‘lucky’ their relationship was ‘short-lived’ because she couldn’t cope with constantly being in the spotlight.
“A new story would appear almost everyday in the press, my school friends were interrogated and there were photographers outside my front door,” Florence said about the relationship.
She added, “I take my hat off to those people who can cope with that lifestyle, buy I knew I couldn’t. Although it was sad at the time, I feel lucky that the relationship was short lived.”
Prince Harry is a member of the British royal family. As the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales, he is sixth in the line of succession to the British throne.
Florence is a former model, who dated the Duke of Sussex for two months in 2011. She added that dating in the spotlight resulted in her experiencing heightened anxiety.
“When I glimpsed for five, six, seven days — we were together a bit longer than that but that’s how long it was in the press — what it was like to be under that focus I found it really terrifying and I made a decision quite quickly that it wasn’t the right thing for me,” she said.
She said she feels lucky the romance did not last because she couldn’t cope with the public scrutiny.
Florence is now 35 and married to multimillionaire Henry St. George. Harry is currently married to American actress Meghan Markle. Their relationship is blithe with controversy and media attention.
In January 2020, the couple stepped down as senior members of the royal family and moved to the Duchess’s native Southern California.
In October 2020, they launched Archewell Inc., an American public organisation that focuses on non-profit activities and creative media ventures. They have two children, Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor.
