Mac and Cheese Recall Affects Nearly 200,000 Boxes, So Check Your Home Now

There is a new recall involving the beloved Mac & Cheese product, so fans should check their home supply.

The ingredients listed on this brand of mac & cheese, however, include milk, a possible allergen that is not included in the ingredient listing, BGR reported.

You can enjoy your Amy’s Vegan Organic Rice Mac & Cheeze, as long as you aren’t allergic to milk or have other milk intolerances.

The Recall is Ongoing

This week, Amy’s Kitchen issued a recall for mac and cheese. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) then shared an official press release online.

A specific lot of Vegan Organic Rice Mac & Cheeze boxes did not declare milk as an ingredient on the product label. This is Lot 60J0421 with UPC 42272-00043 and a “Best Before Date” of 10/2023.

The product was tested by a third-party laboratory, which discovered trace amounts of milk protein.

The FDA has been notified and Amy’s Kitchen is advising all customers and distributors to dispose of the recalled products.

There were 15,626 Mac & Cheese cases recalled by Amy’s Kitchen that might be contaminated with milk. In total, that’s nearly 200,000 boxes.

Allergic Reactions to Milk

Amy’s Kitchen recalled the Vegan Organic Rice Mac & Cheeze boxes that contain milk for safety reasons.

People who are lactose-intolerant or allergic to milk may experience digestive issues after taking the recalled products.

If you don’t suffer from milk allergies or intolerances, you can still consume the recalled product.

Since the product has a long shelf life, it is important to make sure your friends and family aren’t suffering from any relevant medical issues before serving them mac & cheese from the recalled lots.

Some people remain allergic to milk after childhood, but milk allergies are more common in children.
