On Friday, a woman was killed, and a teen was wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on the Far South Side of Chicago. Police say a black SUV pulled up to a vacant lot at 100th Street and Oglesby and opened fire on a woman and a teenager who was walking through the lot.
According to authorities, the woman was shot in the hip and sent to the University of Chicago in serious condition, where she was subsequently pronounced dead. The adolescent was shot in the shoulder and is currently doing well at Comers Children’s Hospital. No one has been taken into custody, but police from Area 2 are working on the case.
