Death in famous Brooklyn kosher bakery- Man found dead inside a bakery freezer

According to the authorities, an employee of a famous Brooklyn kosher bakery known for its black-and-white cookies was discovered dead in the store’s walk-in freezer early Thursday morning.

It appears that 33-year-old Mahamadou Dansago’s death at Beigel’s on Avenue D was an unfortunate accident. According to the information from various credible sources,Dansago, an immigrant father of five from Mali, became entangled in the machine’s spinning blades while working in the freezer and was presumed to have been trapped there for at least five hours.

“The inquiry is underway.”-Police says

When police arrived, they found a 33-year-old man motionless and unconscious inside a walk-in freezer at the address given above, as stated in the police report. “First responders arrived and pronounced Dansago dead,” Police said, “The inquiry is underway.”

According to the Daily News, his coworkers discovered the newly recruited Dansago dead in the freezer upon their arrival at work. David Greenberger, manager of Beigel’s, told reporters outside the shop, “we are grieved by the loss of our employee in this accident.”

“We have informed the family and offered our sincere sympathies,” Greenberger added. We are fully cooperative with all inquiries into this current problem. Greenberger also mentioned that grief counselors were present to help the affected employees and their families.

Israel Beigel started Beigel’s in his native Krakow, Poland, back in 1934. After surviving the Nazi occupation, family members immigrated to the United States in 1949. They started a bakery on the Lower East Side that immediately gained notoriety for its challah, rugelach, and characteristic black-and-white cookie.
