CHICAGO (WLS) – On Wednesday, two teenage boys were charged with an armed carjacking in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
According to Chicago police, the teens, aged 14 and 17, are accused of stealing a vehicle from a 31-year-old man. At gunpoint in the 800 block of North Kedzie Avenue around 4 p.m.
Officers spotted the stolen car. According to police, in traffic and initiated a traffic stop when the teenagers exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
The 14-year-old was apprehended in the 3500 block of West Roosevelt Road, while the 17-year-old was arrested one block to the west.
Each of the boys is charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.
