On Tuesday, October 18th, a car went off the edge of the Angeles Crest Highway and flipped over, killing one person inside. The Los Angeles County Fire Department was currently hoisting the vehicle and the body from the canyon near the Switzer Truck Trail in La Canada Flintridge. As the car careened down the canyon wall around 10:00 a.m., the driver was thrown from the wreckage and landed roughly 20 feet away.
The driver appears to have been the only occupant at the time of the accident.
First responders found a body inside a car that had fallen 600 feet off the side of Angeles Crest Highway. The carnage occurred between mile markers 32 and 34 north of La Canada Flintridge.
Fire Department Found The Body In An area Close To The Switzer Truck Trail
Sheriff’s Lt. Jeremy Carr said the vehicle was found shortly after 9 a.m. after a caller had requested that authorities search the area for a missing car. Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Fire Inspector Henry Narvaez said a paramedic was dropped from a helicopter near the white Nissan and pronounced dead at the scene. The exact number of passengers in the vehicle remains unknown.
