Alyssa Hardin died Wednesday after being hit by a car on the 101 Freeway near Vermont Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 5:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck 33-year-old Hardin, a homeless woman, on the southbound side of the freeway.
