According to the authorities, a school bus driver in Washington, DC, went off the road while on a field trip, jeopardizing the students’ lives. According to the police, 44 children and four adults were aboard the bus. The Ben Murch Elementary School kids from the District of Columbia were in Centreville on a field trip at Cox Farms.
While on a school excursion to Fairfax County, police detained Troy Reynolds. They reported he had a BAC of.20, which is double the limit in Virginia. After veering off the road, Reynolds crashed into a rock. When police arrived, school personnel persuaded him to pull over in the parking lot. When police arrived, they reportedly smelled alcohol on his breath.
The driver committed a big crime by driving the bus after drinking alcohol
It was his second DWI in over two years, according to the police. Two other bus drivers were also cited for operating without proper documentation of their professional standing.During a press conference on Thursday night, Captain Rachel Levy of the Sully District Station stated that more charges might be filed against the bus driver who was arrested for DWI.
To ensure that student safety is always a top priority, DC Public Schools Chancellor Lewis Ferebee issued a statement on social media saying, “DCPS takes this occurrence very seriously, and our staff will perform a full assessment of our transportation vendors. Another bus was dispatched to get the students back to their homes. That individual could not have driven the bus because he lacked the proper licensing.”
