Two New Stimulus Checks: Are They Really on the Way?

Lots of reports about stimulus checks have been coming in lately, and although previous news says a fourth stimulus check is out of the picture, there might be, in fact, two new stimulus checks on the way.

In March, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan, which is a $1.9 trillion piece of legislation used to bring financial aid to those severely affected by the pandemic. This brought about three federal aid stimulus checks directly into the bank accounts of eligible taxpayers as determined by the IRS.

However, it had been said that the third stimulus check that residents have received would be the last one for the year– and maybe even forever.

President Biden has expressed that the economy has been boosting, and because of the blissful taste of normalcy despite the surge in COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant, there have been presumptions that pandemic funds need not be used anymore.

Although, while the stimulus checks have helped many Americans, a lot more have not received their dues, which is why so many are still advocating for a fourth–or maybe fifth– stimulus check.

Right now, Democrats are reportedly planning tax changes that could raise $800 billion. This would be enough to give the population two more of those $1,400 stimulus checks.

But the biggest hurdle, it seems lies on both political lines. Whether you’re Republican or Democrat, ultimately, it is in the cooperation of the lawmakers from both these parties that can bring about change.

Democrats are reportedly going to need at least 10 Republican votes to raise the nation’s debt ceiling in short order, however, around 50 lawmakers have already expressed staunch opposition.

While conversations surrounding the stimulus checks have no conducive answers yet, in the meantime, eligible taxpayers can look to other sources of direct payments such as the Golden State Stimulus, the Expanded Child Tax Credit, Housing and Rental Assistance Plans, and even Educators’ Bonuses.
