Man Loses Life In Shooting Near Newcastle Library!
Early on Monday morning, a man was shot and died in front of the Newcastle Library. Just before 2:20 a.m. on Monday, deputies and officers from the Newcastle Police Department responded to a complaint of gunfire on the 12900 block of Newcastle Way, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).
Upon reaching the location, law officials discovered a guy, 26, who had sustained gunshot wounds. Firefighters pronounced the individual deceased at the scene, according to the KCSO.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigations found that the 26-year-old male who was killed and a 23-year-old woman were the victims of domestic abuse. This is why the shooting occurred.

The woman, age 23, was taken into custody on the spot.
Newcastle Way is closed in both directions between Coal Creek Parkway and 129th Avenue Southeast as of 7:50 a.m. because of the investigation. After being closed for several hours, Coal Creek Parkway between Newcastle Way and Newcastle Golf Club Road is now open in both directions.

Residents may expect some delays in the neighborhood on Monday morning as deputies and officers conduct their investigation, according to the KCSO. Investigators from King County Major Crimes were dispatched to the scene.
