Five Arrested in NYC Laundromat Murder Recorded on Video in Which Thieves Stole a $30k Necklace

Five people have been caught in the gruesome videotaped killing of a Brooklyn laundromat owner during a failed heist, with one of the accused being the victim’s cousin, according to police and sources.

The five devised a scheme to take a gold necklace worth more than $30,000 from Money Perkins, 37, inside his East Flatbush laundry — but the robbers shot the company owner in the head when the plan went awry, according to sources and police.

Perkins’ cousin Ronnie Butler, 46, was embroiled in a long-running quarrel with his cousin when he devised the heist scheme with Louis Mercado, 48, who then recruited his 16-year-old gangbanger stepson and Shoot on Sight mates Shaleek Riddick, 19, and Diante Stinson, 20, according to sources.

The Post received a horrific video of the moment Perkins was shot dead at Money P Clean on Clarendon Road on December 1.

Perkins was cleaning the top of a washing machine when the bunch, dressed in puffer jackets, surged inside and pointed firearms at him, according to the video.

According to the tape, the victim lunges at one of the robbers, who is identified in court filings as his cousin, then drags him to the floor and momentarily battles with him while the other robbers stand by.

Moments later, a gunman opens the laundromat door and shoots Perkins in the leg, with one of his attackers appearing to shoot him in the head, according to the video.

Butler then allegedly smashed Perkins’ head into the floor several times and ripped a necklace from his neck as the others walked out, according to the video and charges.

According to sources, Perkins’ attackers escaped in a white Honda Accord, carrying the gold jewelry.

According to sources, a witness “in fear for his life” hid at the back of the laundry during the horrific incident.

According to court documents, Mercado sold the necklace following the homicide.

According to sources and court documents, surveillance footage assisted authorities in locating the automobile registered to Butler’s girlfriend, and the suspects were also seen at a deli in Far Rockaway prior to the murder.

According to sources, the 16-year-old posted an Instagram photo of himself inside the automobile, brandishing a revolver and dressed in the same attire as seen in surveillance footage.
