CHICAGO — A man has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of a 38-year-old man early Sunday in the Loop, a man has been charged with murder.
According to Chicago police, Devontrell Turnipseed, 23, shot the victim in the chest following an altercation at 1:35 a.m. in the 400 block of South Wells Street.
Turnipseed, whose age was first reported by authorities to be 24, is charged with one count of first-degree murder.

The 38-year-old man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the police.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office said that an autopsy showed that he had been shot many times. His name has not been given out.
According to authorities, Turnipseed was nabbed near the crime site. Minor injuries were treated at Rush Hospital when he was transported there.
