Letitia James Send Warning to All Pople Those Who Dont Know How to Behave in New York
New York Attorney General Letitia James made it clear that any actions of Islamophobia won’t be accepted in the state. She issued this warning after the police shared pictures of a man who allegedly took a hijab off a teenage girl’s head at the end of last month.
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) released information asking for help to identify a man involved in a case of “aggravated harassment” that happened around noon on April 28th.
The police mentioned that the man came up to the 17-year-old girl and forcibly took off her hijab while yelling: “You don’t need to be wearing that here,” After he took off her hijab and yelled, the man quickly left the area.
This all occurred as the girl, whose name wasn’t disclosed, walked toward 2nd Avenue on East 44th Street in East Midtown. Luckily, no one was hurt during the incident.
