Because of his absence, Kawhi Leonard will not be able to play for the Los Angeles Clippers in their upcoming road games in Houston or San Antonio. Leonard may be out for longer than just this road trip, but he has allegedly avoided any major injuries or setbacks.
Ohm Youngmisuk said in a recent ESPN piece that Leonard is fine and that the organization is overly careful with its best player because of his history of injuries. According to Youngmisuk, Leonard wants to play but also knows that getting healthy for the playoffs is more important than playing in a few games early in the season.
A record at 4-4
With Wednesday’s victory, the Clippers evened their record at 4-4; on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs, they’ll try to make it a perfect road trip with another victory. The Clippers have a fighting chance in Leonard’s absence if Paul George keeps up his aggressive play.
The club hopes to replicate their success without Leonard earlier in the season while they wait for him to return to the court.
