Weeks before Christmas, tens of thousands of Americans must have received checks worth up to $3,000 from the Stimulus program, Republicmonews reported.
Students are also Getting Stimulus Benefits
In a recent article at The Sun, Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan provided pandemic relief of about $40 billion to students and institutions.
Colleges have provided students with stimulus checks to help them meet their financial obligations.
George Washington University received $9.1 million in the first round of stimulus funds and $14 million in the second and third rounds.
Students who enrolled after March 13, 2020 were eligible for the funds.
Authorities estimate around 10,000 students have received financial assistance.
Lexi Plaisted, a freshman, said she received $20,000 in financial aid.
“I honestly did not think I would get anything because I’m sure other people have been affected much more than I have, but I thought that it was just worth a shot so I went ahead.”

Stimulus Checks Sent by Other Schools
In total, Meharry Medical College awarded funds to 956 of its students totaling $10,000.
Bushnell University offered financial aid to 206 students in the amount of $642,674.
Almost 31,000 students were awarded prizes totaling up to $1,800 in Penn State’s initial funding cycle.
Grants of $1,000 are available to students with “severe financial requirements.”
These grants are available to students who didn’t qualify in the first round.
A total of 16,000 students were awarded $17.7 million by Florida State University last month.
On Duke University’s website, a statement reads that grant money of up to $1,750 or $3,500 is available for students.
Students can use these funds on tuition, books, food, housing, medical care, and child care. Funds are expected to be distributed starting in December.
City University of New York (CUNY) students can start planning and thinking about their December awards as soon as possible.
Students will discover whether they have been granted the award by late November, according to the city’s university system.
The Student grants also come with a “minimum grant amount” though.
