One Person Died In Vehicle-Pedestrian Accident On Highway 81

According to the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office, a crash early on Sunday morning resulted in one death.

A pedestrian was crossing the northbound lane of Highway 81 about a quarter mile south of the R Street exit when the pedestrian and the northbound Jeep Renegade, which was going on Highway 81/Geneva bypass, crashed around 3:16 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim of the hit was Bryce Erb, a 35-year-old man.

Erb received CPR at the site before being transported to the Fillmore County Hospital by Geneva Fire & Rescue and the sheriff’s office. There, he was declared deceased. The 24-year-old Oklahoman driver of the Jeep escaped unharmed.

On its Facebook page, Shickley Fire and Rescue sent a message expressing their sincere condolences to the family of Erb, the fire department’s captain, according to the post. The sheriff’s department looked into this incident.
