Bensalem police say teen confessed to killing 13-year-old girl on Instagram

The adolescent died from a gunshot wound to the neck and upper chest, according to the coroner’s report.

According to police in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, a 16-year-old boy admitted to killing someone during a video chat with a friend on Instagram.

Joshua Cooper, the suspect, allegedly spoke to a female acquaintance of his age (16) through video chat on Friday and told her about the crime, according to police

According to Cooper’s friend, who spoke to authorities, the 13-year-old victim‘s bloody feet were shown on the screen after Cooper flipped the camera around.

It is said that Cooper enlisted the help of his friend in order to get rid of the body. The girl’s mother found out and promptly contacted authorities.

A young male, later identified as Cooper, allegedly fled from the back of the trailer as police officers approached his residence in the Top of the Ridge Trailer Park on Gibson Road.

A young female’s body was discovered on the restroom floor, apparently shot. A short time later, Cooper turned up near the trailer park.

Cooper told investigators, “it was an accident, [he’s] sorry, and [he’s] going to jail for the rest of his life,” as stated in an affidavit of probable cause.

An affidavit claims that Cooper told his mother and the police that he had a sexual relationship with the victim at one point.

According to the police, there was sufficient evidence that someone attempted to conceal the crime scene. Witnesses report hearing a gunshot but dismissing it as background noise.

Gary Seeley, a neighbour, claimed he planned to invite the boy over for turkey dinner because the boy’s father was off hunting.

The Bensalem police said that Cooper told them he was going through his father’s guns and ammo when the 13-year-old girl was dropped off at his house.

Cooper states that the girl used the restroom before her murder, which police have corroborated.

“It didn’t look like the kid was going to do any harm. I’m aware of the challenges he faced. In my opinion, he was just a threat to himself, “said Seeley.

The adolescent died from a gunshot wound to the neck and upper chest, according to the coroner’s report. Cooper was transferred to a correctional facility for young offenders.

A number of allegations have been brought against him, including murder and having criminal implements in his possession, as well as tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
